Become an Ambassador for ASPN and support Asian single parents across the UK!

In brief

Asian Single Parents Network CIC (ASPN) is looking for new Ambassadors! As an Ambassador, you will play a key role in supporting ASPN to improve the lives of Asian single parents across the UK. 

This is a voluntary role which involves:

• Inspiring people to support the organisation
• Educating people about what we do
• Increasing the size of our community and the geographical reach of ASPN
• Using social media to contribute to the online presence of ASPN
• 
  

The ideal Ambassador

We are looking for inspirational people like you who:

• Are passionate about the challenges faced by Asian single parents
• Have existing links and networks with potential ASPN supporters
• Are confident in promoting our work and asking for support (both financial and non-financial)

In terms of time commitment, we would suggest an average of 3 hours per month and a minimum of a one year commitment to the role. We appreciate that Ambassadors are volunteers and will have other commitments alongside this role and as so there is always some flexibility in this.

ASPN is a unique community which offers social, emotional and practical support in order to build confidence, prevent isolation and combat the stigma attached to being a single parent in South Asian families.

Since 2011, ASPN has organised an array of activities for our hundreds of members, including expert-led information and advice sessions as well as events such as day trips and weekends away.

When members join, they often express relief that they are finally in a space where they are with other people who understand what they’re going through.

The network is a safe space, where members can talk to others in the same boat without judgement. It provides company for parents when doing activities which they would have otherwise done alone. It also helps the children of members who might feel different to their peers, seeing that there are others in the same situation as themselves.
