We are delighted to announce that we have received funding from Barclays Community Sport Fund, in partnership with Sported, to deliver tennis sessions to women and girls in certain locations!
ASPN Founder, Aruna Bansal, shared: “Sports such as tennis encourage teamwork, leadership and confidence. I have seen the benefits with my own daughter, who grew up playing racket sports, and I want other single mums and their children to have the same opportunities.”
Aruna’s daughter previously shared on our blog: “From encouraging me through squash, my dad gave me confidence and self-esteem, helped me meet new people, and inspired me to set goals and strive for success both academically and in sport.”
The Barclays Community Sport Fund supports community groups and grassroots sports organisations who are working within the most deprived areas of the UK and are making football, tennis and cricket more accessible to women and girls.
Sported is a charity which delivers expertise, resources and vital support to clubs and groups that use sport and physical activity to make a positive impact on young people – and on our communities – throughout the UK.
