Simon Sugar – Barrister

Simon is a barrister at 1GC Family Law, specialising in family law. He mainly works on financial matters that arise when a marriage ends, but also handles cases involving cohabitation disputes, claims for financial support for children (Schedule 1 claims), and inheritance issues.

Simon is one of the few barristers who belongs to both the Family Law Bar Association and the Chancery Bar. This means he has the expertise to deal not only with straightforward cases, but also with more complex financial disputes – such as those involving businesses, farms, trusts, or company assets.

He accepts work directly from members of the public (public access work), is a CEDR-accredited mediator, and also acts as a private Financial Dispute Resolution (FDR) judge.
